Save The Ocean!
Without the oceans and rivers, we as a species cannot continue.
They provide us with some amazing eco-solutions like alternative energy and so much more!
But they are undergoing some serious stressors, like Plastic & Mercury Pollution, Ocean acidification, Dying Coral Reefs, Ocean Dead Zones.
We are young scientists coming together to set up a student summit to solve these challenges, with MIT Sea Grant and Dr. Chryssostomidis.
Pristine Academy gives an opportunity for students who are working on ocean projects to connect and collaborate face to face, and online, all over the world, to advocate and design innovative solutions.

I plan to major in industrial engineering. My project revolves around solving the issue of plastic pollution in oceans by creating a companion robot that can detect and collect plastic.

My project revolves around using statistical modeling to analyze and predict trends of environmental problems concerning rising ocean temperatures as well as PET plastic elimination.

I plan on majoring in neuroscience and bioethics. My project investigates the connection between humans and the ocean, to look past the beauty of the ocean in order to focus on all the harm that is being done to it.
"I want to connect graphene to the ocean and the future of life on planet earth. The ocean and so many species within it are endangered due to trash and acidification. I think with the help of graphene I can build a nuclear submarine that take energy from the trash and use them as a fuel."

"I love to run-- it makes me feel very free! So I know what it must be like to be a dolphin or an orca, being able to swim so free and fast in the ocean. But orcas are disappearing and no one seems to know why. My goal is to save them."

I’m a rising senior here in GEMS Metropole school, Dubai. I'm concern that high amounts of pollutants in the ocean is killing living marine organisms. Excess nutrients entering a body of water, either through natural or human activities, can also result in hypoxic or dead zones.

I'm from Dubai, I am researching extreme ocean and river weather events and how they are a threat to all life and what we can do to prevent them. These issues are vital to today’s society as water born illnesses could have drastic repercussions all over the world.

I am a golfer and a percussionist. As I follow the path of my sport, I seek to try and modify the human engram cell and remove the neurons that give humans the satisfaction from their addiction. I'm also studying marine microbes who are small but mighty at capturing carbon.

I am a tennis player and an artist. I am interested in ecology and using new technologies to help preserve and save the environment. I hope to use the newly discovered plastic eating bacteria to eliminate plastic( PET) waste products in the ocean.
I am a dancer and I love turtles. It is very unfortunate that the population of turtles are going down, mainly due to the amount of plastic in the ocean. I am designing an underwater autonomous vehicle that can reduce plastic waste in the ocean.

I play basketball but I also think about how to feed the planet. So I started baking cricket flour from eatchirps.com and made chocolate chip cricket cookies. I want to expand into water-based bugs that have not been considered in a mainstream way as viAble protein so I can feed the world.

I'm into computers and I'm seriously interested in AI. I want to help solve the toughest challenge of our generation— destruction of the environment. I'm currently working on developing an all-in-one social media app for environmentalists.
